Race Day Volunteer Details
Volunteer Parent Position Details
At each race, we have the parents fill these assignments to help the race day events run smoothly. Look on TeamSnap on the WX MTB Team on the Race Day event to sign-up for a position.
Tow Trailer (to/from race)
Pick-up trailer the day before race
Help with final packing (people will bring things to your house)
Tow trailer to race and drive in the Pitzone to drop off (you will have a pitzone parking pass for the day)
Take Trailer home after Pitzone is taken down
Deliver trailer to designated storage
Rider Check-In (1 volunteer, 3 shifts)
Carries a radio to communicate to all coaches at the race
Greets the rider as they arrive
Looks for their name on the wave sheet (taped to the table) and checks them off
Write the call-up number on their arm with a Sharpie
Instructs the rider on raceplate placements (on the bike, on the body)
Remind them of their time to meet coaches for warm-up and staging time
Encourages them to look over bike for any mechanical issues
Pitzone Setup (3-5 volunteers)
Assists in parking of trailer (if not done the night before)
Helps setup all tents, walls to protect from sun/weather
Sets all tables and chairs
Set out radios and harnesses for coaches
Setup rider check-in area
Setup bike racks
Photographer (1-2 Volunteers, 3 shifts)
Takes pictures/video of all participants, pitzone activities
Uploads all pictures to team Google Photos (and encourages others to do the same)
Pitzone Take down (3-5 volunteers)
Generally clean items before taking equipment down
Take down all equipment, put into trailer in an orderly manner
Take all garbage to designated location at the Race
Helps person towing trailer as needed
